About Us

Our History

Centre Wellington Pride was founded in November 2024 by community advocates Jey Plourde (they/them) and Diane Ballantyne (she/her), who shared a vision of creating a visible, inclusive, and connected 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Centre Wellington. Recognizing the need for a local space where community residents could celebrate, organize, and belong, they set out to build a grassroots movement rooted in both pride and belonging.

Our Vision

Centre Wellington Pride envisions a thriving, inclusive community where 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies are empowered to live authentically, celebrated for their diversity, and supported in every facet of life. Our vision is to nurture a strong, visible, and resilient local Pride movement that builds meaningful connections, fosters understanding, and uplifts every member of our community through year-round engagement, education, and celebration.
