This subcommittee’s work is focused on centering marginalized voices within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and promoting meaningful, equity-driven change in Centre Wellington. We develop informed recommendations for CW Pride and other local agencies and collaborate on projects with the township and other community groups. Above all, our goal is to help ensure our community’s voice is heard, that 2SLGBTQIA+ perspectives shape local decisions, and that our community is both represented and supported throughout Centre Wellington.
To support this mission, our current projects focus on identifying and addressing gaps in local services, leading community-based research, and gathering feedback to guide CW Pride’s programming and advocacy. We are also creating resources for locals to access information specific to CW regarding support programs, allied businesses, legal rights and political action. Looking ahead, we aim to strengthen our connections with local businesses, service providers, and community partners to broaden and improve visibility, education and supports available in Centre Wellington.
